Biography of the artist: Magdalena Kwapisz-Grabowska

Magdalena Kwapisz Grabowska is an artist born in Gliwice who graduated with distinction from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków-Katowice in 1999. Since then, she has taken part in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Her works are in private collections worldwide, and she received a distinction at the international Chelsea International Fine Art Competition in New York. Today, she lives and works in Berlin.

Artistic style
Magdalena Kwapisz-Grabowska is distinguished by expressive figurative painting that often enters into dialogue with Old Masters such as Rembrandt or Velázquez. Her works combine classical themes - portraits, nudes, religious motifs - with contemporary sensitivity and luminous colors.

Techniques
She works primarily in oil on canvas and uses glazing techniques for depth and light reflections. Inspired by the Baroque and the Renaissance, she layers colors to create dramatic contrasts and emotional intensity; collage and mixed media complement her experiments.
