In Certain Frames is a work by Jolanta Johnsson that combines simplified figuration with formal exploration. Two dark, synthetic silhouettes captured in an inverted, mirror-like arrangement create a dynamic division of space, in which extended hands build a delicate tension. The intense red background contrasts with the blackness of the figures, and their interior is covered with a network of linear markings that harmonize with the graphic trace of a scratched matrix. The entire composition is enclosed by an ornamental frame executed in the linocut technique.
